In order to obtain an SIA licence you will need to show that
you are trained to the right level. This applies to front-line
staff only.
In setting standards for training we have taken into account
the changing roles of those already employed in the industry and
the requirements for new skills and knowledge. The training includes
conflict management and communication, which have been identified
as basic skills needed by the industry.
To get one of the qualifications linked to door supervisor licensing,
you will need to attend a two part training course and take and
pass two exams. The course may be delivered over 4 days or during
weekends and/or evening sessions. The total training time will
always be 30 hours, which includes two hours of exams.
Training is delivered in two parts as follows:
Part 1 - Role and responsibilities of a door supervisor (14
hours)
Part 2 - Communication skills and conflict management (14 hours)
We run 3 levels of courses:
Level 1, Bronze level for Static and
