In order to obtain an SIA licence you will need to show that
you are trained to the right level. This applies to front-line
staff only.
In setting standards for training we have taken into account
the changing roles of those already employed in the industry and
the requirements for new skills and knowledge.
To get one of the qualifications linked to security guard licensing
you will need to attend a two part training course and take and
pass two exams. The course may be delivered over 4 days or during
weekends and/or evening sessions.
Training is delivered in two parts as follows:
Part 1 - The Role and Responsibilities of Security Officers
(22.5 hours)
Part 2 - Communication Skills and Conflict Management (7.5 hours)
